My man had 5 whole innings of "Spring Training", and they weren't a good 5 innings. Really no reason whatsoever, to try and rush him not only up to the bigs, but to put him into a 1 run game in the 8th? But then again, this is the Chicago White Sox organization.

The problem is that your hope is my doom and gloom. Because we also have all seen enough baseball to know how this goes. Theyre now as healthy as any team in baseball. That should set them up to play .500 ish ball over the next tough stretch of games. So they go into the all star break 8 or 10 games under .500 but only 6-7 games back in the division. Rick Hahn doesn’t sell anything off and adds a reliever, he spends their draft trying to find other relievers to help right now. One more losing streak in the 2nd half and they finish 8 or 10 games back, but Rick reminds management how hard it was to get to third place and what a great job he did, so nothing changes, again. So we keep doing this, and limp through a 74 win season next year, probably after signing another domestic abuser because we can afford them. You know, hope.

Reinsdorf also hired Kenny Williams as the GM, and while he wasn’t great, he wasn’t the worst in the league. He was a gambler, you’d wind up with surprisingly good years and stunningly bad years under him, leaving the team about average with a regular chance at the playoffs. That is such an upgrade from Rick Hahn it isn’t funny.

This team needs a near total rebuild. It starts with firing Hahn in the next couple weeks and bringing in a GM with a proven winning record with a winning organization. Then you basically start listening to trade offers on everyone. There is no untouchables if the return is right. The whole key is to get rid of Hahn and get someone who knows how to construct a winning team. Of course none of this will happen so F it!

They didn't want to spend money on Harper and Machado because they prioritized re-signing their young championshit core. Now they can't find anyone who would want them.

A few problems. The fans wanted Machado or Harper. An MVP caliber player that can carry an offense and take pressure of off hitters. The fans saw this team had s%*# defense and DH's playing in the outfield. We watched this team do next to nothing to address the lack of power. Yeah there was hope before, but they truly failed building and supplementing this roster as necessary.

He is a bad GM in a bad org. No need to sugar coat it. He built a talented but very flawed roster that succumb to those flaws. He failed miserably at building depth or any semblance of a minor league system that would supplement the club. He’s also burned ungodly amounts of money on crap players while failing to land any impact talent in FA outside of Hendriks. He doesn’t work in baseball again once this gig is over. He is bad, period.

The Dodgers have 5 starting pitchers on the IL right now. What horrible luck. No team could possibly overcome that kind of loss and still be in first place. Injuries man, it’s impossible to prepare for them.

I'm not blind I can see even when the team is whole it still has holes. There are plenty of reasons for the bitching and complaining and whining that seems to prevail here. Everyone has a right to post their feelings. None of us can affect the outcome of the games or seasons. Even the best teams win championships rarely. Disappointment is the nature of being a fan. Me? I prefer to have hope rather than gloom and doom. Its simply more fun that way. If people are not enjoying being a fan then perhaps they are finding enjoyment in failure. Whatever floats your boat boys. We have all seen enough baseball to know nothing is settled in May. They have been better lately. I see some reason to believe we could find some fun this summer. I suspect Rick will speak to the media today, focus mostly on Liam’s return, which is fine, then take some questions regarding the struggles. He will say it has obviously hasn’t gone as thought or hoped, but there has been some improvement lately, and with Liam and Crochet and Eloy back, and Clevinger in line to make his next start, he still believes in this team, blah, blah, blah. No one will challenge him. THe one thing I don’t get is those that point to the Sox schedule being difficult in April and some of May. So what? If you expect them to be a playoff team shouldn’t playing them be difficult? If you expect them to do damage in the playoffs, shouldn’t they be able to beat good teams?

This team stinks. I want playoff baseball here since this franchise routinely deprives us all of that far too often. I also want this team to fail miserably so that some sort of change is forced to happen. Ultimately, it's mostly indifference that I feel towards the team now and it sucks.

How the hell can Burger not be in the lineup ? The guy has massive Home/road splits. Him and Robert only carried the team is their last home stand to get the Sox to within 5.5 games of 1st. Him and Robert sucking on the recent road trip is at least one reason why the Sox lost. Actually Robert started to cool off the last home stand but his slugging and OPS are much better at home. But sure lets leave the guy with the .833 Slugging and 1.208 OPS on the bench at home.

Hahn showed up to speak to the media today! Basically spoke and said nothing (of course). Said May was better than April but still frustrated by inconsistency. Now that everyone is "healthy" (he's just asking for it isn't he?) he thinks the Sox may possibly play up to their capabilities. Also said it is still to early in the season to make any longer term decisions. Guy is a complete moron.

If losing 8 out of 10 instead of 6 out of 10 would force change, I would be all for it. You must cheer for wins. It’s all you have. They could set records for losing. The same dopes would be still making decisions.

I agree and I have posted numerous times that if it means the Sox having a huge embarrassing implosion where they lose over 100 games this year creates change then so be it. I am ok with that type of disastrous season.....in order for major change to occur and get Rick Hahn fired. I have been a lifelong loyal Sox fan and that will never change. Even if they continue to be terrible, which is probably going to happen until Jerry, Kenny and Hahn are gone, I will remain a fan. However being a loyal fan doesn't mean I can't be harsh about the POS owner and GM. We as fans have every right to criticize this inept POS owner and front office. The best thing that can happen is for this team to continue losing and to embarrass themselves so much, that at the trade deadline there won't be any question as to why the White Sox need to be major sellers. Although it sucks it will be Hahn doing it. You're right though, in time Jerry will pass on and a new owner will come in. I disagree with you that the new owner will move the team out. The Sox fan have proven if they put a good competitive playoff team on the field, the fans will come out and draw well. The future rich billionaire Sox owner will be realize it makes total sense to stay in the third largest market with an established and long loyal fan base. The only thing stopping the Sox from being an elite team is a brilliant Pres/GM combo. Jerry has allowed Hahn more than enough money to spend and get good free agents. The problem is Hahn made horrible FA signings and wasted away the money. If the new future owner is smart and goes out and finds some top notch GM from the likes of the Dodgers, Rays or Braves and makes him president...just like the Dodgers did when they recruited Andrew Friedman away from TB, then the Sox can start hopefully getting on the right path to being a consistent top-tier team.

I’m going on 78 and running out of time, so far in 71 years of fandom I’ve seen them in 2 World Series and to be honest and sad about it the odds are I won’t see another one.

They lose enough that Rick Hahn has no choice but to make moves he doesn’t want to make. Maybe he sells off a couple pieces. Finally he gets fired at the end of the year. Can’t be worse.

Trading for MLB ready talent doesn't bother me. I wouldn't be bothered trading picks or younger players for MLB ready talent. But we suck at that also.

I wish more posters here would admit that what you said is what they want to see. Some people have gotten to this point, others I have heard from (not necessarily from this board) are reconsidering their fandom (lifelong passionate White Sox fans, not fair weather fans) and others see the malaise but are willing to let things out and see what moves are made. As the years go on, JR will eventually pass and moves will be made, although my fear is the new owner will move the team out of Chicago to another state and we will get a new front office but the team will be elsewhere.
