Sheez! Who are these guys? They are Miami frigging Marlins. We are in Chicago. The weather is perfect. The team is heating up. We are 3.5 outta first. You're hoping for one?? You may be right but going into it expecting to lose two out of three sounds defeatist. I'm sure you will be happier when the Sox win the series. Lets Go White Sox!!6 points

As to your first point, People are suggesting Burger at third and Moncada at second to get them both in the line-up at the same time. The Sox have too many DH's and we need Burger in the line-up every day. What is a fan card? As to "no motivation" and "not very bright", we all would like to see Moncada succeed but we see a player who appears to just be going through the motions when he could be so much more.4 points
-
If this is about Burger, that's just ridiculous. His work ethic to come back from the two achilles tears shouldn't even be questioned, let alone the hustle.4 points
-
RACISM! .....speaking of tired acts. One can differentiate between a player who has trouble coordinating defensively and a player who chooses to jog down the line consistently. Sox fans like watching players who bust their ass. You're the only one constantly focusing on race. Nobody ever dogged Abreu on effort, because he gave it.4 points

Andrus single, WP, TA K, Beni IBB and Robert, Jr. ends it with a liner down the LF line for the 2-1 V !3 points

There is not a single hitter on this team that has a plan at the plate....Hawk said it best a bad plan is better then no plan at all.3 points

Should had both Benintendi and Robert in a double steal/ hit & run play with Vaughn at bat. Vaughn is a big DP candidate, worse than Eloy at clean up.3 points

They just said on the pre game show, Eloy has had 16 different injuries since 2019.3 points
-
Given all the soft tissue issues Eloy has dealt with (much easier to prevent than Moncada's lumbar issues) you have to call into question his diet, training and conditioning. A mid 20s athlete should not be straining their lower body every other week.3 points
-
Not yet. This organization would rather play a man short for a while.3 points

That’s what happens after a while when you jog around the field during game play repeatedly3 points

That was my main original point. i wasn't saying blatant racism...it's the undertones of someone not screaming, isn't a "grinder" OR has a laid back style - this board assumes they are lazy, unmotivated, etc, etc. It's so tiresome. Unless you are in this person's mind or the team's trainer, you have no clue what type of competitor they really are and how much they are dealing with. To be clear...I LIKE burger's bat. how could you not? but I also think Moncada, Eloy, Robert and TA all get this bad rap of not wanting to win or improve.3 points
-
Moncada is always hobbling and does not consistently contribute to the offense. The latest fwAR says Burger is worth 3 times more to the White Sox now than the current version of Moncada. 1.2 to .4 fWAR. Burger makes no money Moncada is super rich. Burger the non athlete is a faster runner than Moncada and half the team. Burger is not ideal at 3rd base but neither is Moncada. But Burger deserves more AB's than anyone on the team not named Robert.3 points
-
Oh here we go, if you call Moncada a disappointment you must be a racist. Get out of here3 points
-
Anyone...and I mean anyone here who thinks Burger should be at 3rd and Moncada at 2nd should lose their fan card. Burger is fine at DH, but why oh why do we hear words like "no motivation" "lack of effort" "not very bright" "doesn't care" "got his money" for the latin player and not the guy so out of shape he wouldn't even be recognized as an athlete outside of like 50,000 Southside fans? It is ridiculous that this type of unspoken bias still exists here and the reality is Moncada DOES and always will have a higher career fWAR and total impact to the team than a slugger without position.3 points

Lance Lynn's schtick gets old when he plays like s%*#. He also has horrible takes on everything. I'm sick of this dude.3 points

Bullpen in the last 25 games: 2.99 ERA, 1.08 WHIP. Both lead the league over that period. They have allowed the fewest hits and runs of any team in their last 25, and their H/9 of 6.35 is almost a full run lower than the Padres' second place mark at 7.20.2 points

Imagine intentionally walking Benintendi so you can face Luis Robert. This reminds me of the World Series when the Phillies brought in Alvarado to pitch against Yordan Alvarez because "the match up" and he crushed a 450 foot home run.2 points

What an awful at bat. Trying to pull pitches when he should be going to right2 points

How much dead money are we gonna owe Beni after he finishes with .5 fWAR this year?2 points

You sir need to buy a lottery ticket today! Grifoil just said that Eloy will be out "four to five days" but they are "hoping" to avoid putting him on the IL. Left leg lower calf issue. LET'S PLAY SHORTHANDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ????? This organization is remarkable for its stupidity.2 points

When Eloy came back, I asked on here "how long until he goes on the IL?" I posted 6/20 as a random date. It looks like that'll be too late2 points

But at this time it's about production. Moncada may care more than anyone thinks but all I care about is getting the best team on the field as much as possible and when your core guys like Eloy, Moncada and Robert all get hurt fairly often it becomes a big problem. My post didn't say anything about his attitude. At this point I'd be thrilled to send Eloy and Grandal to the Giants for a few months of Conforto, Joey Bart and Luis Matos, one of their better OF prospects in AAA. Maybe throw Middleton , Lopez or Hendriks or Kelly (2024 team option ) or Lenyn Sosa into the mix and see what you can come up with. Losing Conforto for this year would hurt them but they'd get Eloy and all his option years through 2026 in case he ever stops getting injured and fulfills his potential. Bart might need change of scenery.2 points

I just dropped $300 on the Sox to win the division so I can feel something other than apathy. Let's go!2 points
-
So close ? I just looked at Baseball Savant and Moncada is in the 18th percentile while Burger is 77th For clarification 18th is bad 77th is pretty good.2 points
-
The Sox and Marlins have one thing in common. They are both 3.5 games out of first place in their divisions. What the Sox and Marlins don't have in common...W-L record! The Sox are 8 games under 500 and Marlins are 7 games over 500. ?2 points

Now for the parts I agree with: Burger is a great DH. Everytime Moncada makes the play where a weak grounder is dribbling down the third base line and he grabs it and guns it to first - that's not a play Burger makes. Moncada did that yesterday. He also definitely plays hurt, which takes a fuckton of effort. I just don't understand the dude at the plate. At this point, as much as I love Vaughn, it's not Burger vs. Moncada, but Burger vs. Vaughn or Eloy. I would honestly say Eloy, because anyone that gets hurt swinging the bat as much as he does, well, that's the problem.1 point
-
Over a week ago I noticed that Vaughn had 39 RBIs...nearly 40 - and thought, "That's pretty good"...He still has 39! Sox hitters are streaky. They'll get hot for a stretch, and then nothing. Great players are more consistent...1 point

The Sox are playing well and 3 games out of first. Who knows what will happen between now and the deadline but they are not on a "sellers" trendline at all.1 point

We all owe @DoUEvenShifta debt of gratitude for arguably the White Sox best stretch of the season to date. Thank you for delivering five straight White Sox victories, including two impressive wins in the maggot infested Big Apple.1 point

Greg775 might be more likely to homer. Although he always claims Fathom could homer... Heck, the OU softball team might be more likely to homer, especially their biggest power hitter last year.1 point

The year Dallas Keuchel was DFA after: 8 starts for Sox in 2022, 2-5, 7.88 ERA, 32 innings, 49 hits, 6 HR, 20 Walks, 0.323 batting avg. Lance Lynn in 13 games: 4-6, 6.72 ERA, 72.1 innings, 84 hits, 16 home Runs, 29 walks, 0.285 BA It may not be quite as bad as Keuchel, but the only reasons Lynn hasn’t been DFA’d is the money, the fact that Lynn isn’t a dugout cancer like Keuchel, and the fact that we have no one obviously ready to take over for Lynn. At this point, I am honestly wondering why not give the starts to Scholtens. It doesn’t seem like it could be that bad. Only things lynn give you is he’s an innings eater… but who cares with an ERA like that?!?1 point

If the Sox can't even have a final record of one game over .500 they don't deserve to be in the playoffs in my opinion. Them (or anyone) getting in with a losing record would be a complete farce, an absolute joke.1 point
