Fire Pedro before this train wreck leaves the west coast. I never thought I'd say this but bring in Ozzie. What do you have to lose? If not Ozzie, someone. The FO can't just sit on its hands and watch this team completely implode. Doing nothing is just giving up.5 points

I don’t know how this doesn’t infuriate everyone. The Sox are one of the worst teams in the league yet find themselves in one of the worst divisions of all-time and somehow are still in a playoff hunt. The manager is keeping one of 2023’s worst hitters in the 2 hole because of what he has “done in this game” previously, totally ignoring what has transpired right in front of him on the bench. He is actively hurting the Sox chances to win out of “respect” for Tim Anderson. This guy should not be managing an ML team.5 points

I’m watching because I’m a White Sox fan and want to see them win every game they play. 71 years of this and I can’t change.4 points

The Sox keep reinventing new ways to further embarrass themselves. 1. Going into the game, the A's were 30th in runs scored at 3.49 per game. The Sox allow the A's 7 runs. 2. Going into the game, the A's were 30th in ERA at 6.08. The Sox score 4 runs. 3. The A's starter Medina going into game was 1-7 with a 6.84 ERA. The Sox bats go dormant and Medina goes 5 IP and 1 ER. When Grifol was announced as the new Sox manager, at the press conference one of the key things he stressed was, the Sox players would be playing with intensity and hustle...because as he put it, the Sox name on their jersey means something, so they will play with pride. A good manager who actually was passionate about his promises and beliefs, would have Andrus out of the lineup today. Grifol was a horrible hire and once again, another reason Hahn has to be fired for that and all his other numerous organizational failures. From JR to RH, this entire organization is the most underachieving, embarrassing and dysfunctional team in baseball. 2023 White Sox Mantra continues in strong fashion: STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES!4 points

This team literally has no chance of winning the division when our pitching depth consists of Tanner fucking Banks and Jesse shitshow Scholtens. Even a garbage squad like the Oakland A’s is able to beat us up. A serious front office would see that along with a horrible flawed offense and quickly realize our fate is sealed. Do the right thing and blow this s%*# the F up!4 points

Lol…the entire organization should be embarrassed:3 points

When I was a kid I couldn't wait to listen to all the pregame & post game radio shows and tune in to each game. Double headers were always a dream come true. The drama of rain delays before or after it was an official game. Nancy Faust pounding the organ at old Comiskey. And now just about as low as it gets as a diehard fan. This team absolutely sucks in every aspect of baseball. The worst part is I can't rid myself of this.3 points

We can still win the division. Tomorrow is a new day and a new game3 points

The only thing this team does well is make other teams look good.3 points

I love these “this part of the schedule is super weak” and “here’s our chance to make a move” threads. Literally none of them have worked! What a great summary of the Hahn plan.3 points

Anderson who is currently like 1-25 in the two hole hits second again. Doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of Pedro.3 points

How can a major league franchise, have a general manager, who has absolutely no idea on how to build a productive and/or winning team . Luis Robert Jr. is why I tune in now, but I find myself, more and more, switching over to some other game . i'm getting too old for this ******* ******** . **** *** Jerry Reinsdorf!!!3 points

This dream is over. They will finish either 3-4 or 4-3 (I refuse to contemplate being swept by the A’s) For exactly 2 years now since the 2021 ASB this team has proven they are a .500 team except this year when they’re a .500 team with a 10 game losing streak. If they keep everyone, they win 74-76 games. Trade veteran pitchers, they win 64 games but have more assets for next year. I am on the record as to which I prefer. End the denial.3 points

Yea you are missing that Kopech has completely melted down the last few starts and has lost his release point. This isn’t rest, something is not right with Kopech (again). pedro sucks, but this isn’t that problem. This is a Kopech getting to 100 pitches in the 4th inning problem3 points
-
Here's a question I have since it now seems according to Grifol that Kopech is going to miss his turn Sunday. Why? You've got a chance to beat a garbage team trying to lose, so they can move, yet you rest him now? He can't rest next week say against the Cardinals? Am I missing something here? Does pitching Sunday make that much difference? Grifol is as big of a moron as Hahn. He fits right in with this organization. Part of me hopes the Sox lose Sunday then Kopech loses next week just to show how stupid these people are.3 points

Pedro loves to pinch run late and this comes back to haunt us again. Vaughn at first makes a quicker throw home in the10 th. We are not a small ball team and pinch runners are not being making a great difference. Taking out Eloy and Vaughn two of our better hitters out in a close game late was not wise. Managers have been fired for less than Grifols screwups. Grifol and Hahn should be accountable for this embarrassment and shown the door ASAP.2 points

He’s probably paying the Sox.2 points

Honestly, Grifol should not be the manager past this weekend....he does nothing well that I can tell.2 points

Surely Rick will step down on Monday.2 points

Bottom line is you can’t get picked off in that situation.2 points

Burger hasn't had a hit in weeks, and they burn Vaughn with an 0-2 count pinch runner. This is another Rick Hahn disaster.2 points

My word, he can't catch a break.2 points

He’ll be a better hitter once he’s playing his natural 1B position, they said ?2 points

The A’s certainly look like the better team.2 points

It's worse because he had a much bigger budget. He is and will continue to be the worst GM in professional sports history. Like the guy yelling at 'George' in the 'Wedding Singer,' "YOOOOUU SUCKKKKKKKK!"2 points

Actually it might be time for Colas to be called up, he’s been hot lately, had 2 homers last night.2 points

Career Regular Season AB AVG HR RBI SB OPS 626 .259 20 72 10 .757 Much like the Fukudome contract...this one feels like a net negative so far compared to both offensive impact expectations AND injuries. From a marketing standpoint, I can hardly believe the likes of Grandal or Benintendi have put more than a handful in the seats. You'd have to get an in-depth survey from the Cubs to determine the positive impact of Suzuki on ticket buyers in 2022-23. Also pretty clear Bryce Harper from a "cultural cache/Q Rating" standpoint was the optimal choice to legitimately put the Sox on the map as a serious or committed to being relevant franchise.2 points

Definitely bottom 5. I think the Sox overall are a bottom 3 org in baseball with Colorado and Kansas City2 points

I’ve been thinking about your first sentence …. If they did win the division would most get joy out of it? For myself I’ve already moved on from this team and would not get enjoyment. I’m still coasting on the fumes on my 40 years of being a fan but I don’t get current enjoyment out of them. Even if there was a good run out of them and they snuck in (which by the way, I can’t ever remember a Sox team coming from behind to snatch success at the end of a season) I really don’t think I would blink an eye. Maybe I’m wrong and I could get caught up in it but I think I root for the Rays more at this point.2 points

I don't miss one thing about not watching this team anymore. My thanks to everyone, though, for keeping me updated about the failures of this team.2 points

For me, Kjerstad is the choice, but Baltimore would probably rather trade Ortiz. Prieto has also been playing well and playing some ss. Acuna is intriguing cuz it continues Sox tradition of having less talented brothers of All Star players.2 points

They got handcuffed because their 80 million dollar point guard, whom they were having success with, got injured. Hard to say if they are/were a title contender with him or not, but weren't they top 5 in offense and defense. They put together a team that worked...they just got hit with bad luck..2 points

andrew vaughn may be the slowest professional athelete ive ever seen. I think John Daly could beat him to first.2 points

I'd be crying too... the Sox sent out two pitchers who were basically flotsam and jetsam. Cannon fodder thinking they'd be enough to beat up the hapless A's. Oakland had the last laugh though. Of course Rick Hahn somehow thought he could get by a full season with only five reliable starters.2 points
