  1. I would counter that they need to better tailor their roster to the MLB

  2. I mean, they're also 27-48 on the road. I think they're just bad.

  3. When you come back from 9 down to tie it you bring in one of your best relievers to hold the other team. I'd blame Grifol but he doesn't have a good reliever.

  4. Royals win the season series against the Sox, lol. Fourth time in five years that's happened. A 46-win team has won its first road series since May. Sell the team Jerry, we're sick of your leadership.

  5. So we sent him down to play Gavin Sheets in RF the rest of the year, fuckin dumb

  6. With all due respect to Dick Allen, I don’t want to see or hear from Buddy Bell, Chris Getz, Dayton Moore, Pedro Grifol, Andrew Benintendi, Nicky Lopez, Mike Tosar, Eddie Rodriguez, soon Salvador Perez, and everyone who has ever played or worked for the Kansas City Royals. White Sox cancer is bad enough. Now Getz and Pedro are importing dual mortalities via Royals Ebola.

  7. Jerry has flouted the Selig Rule pretty blatantly with La Russa and Getz, but they've had high ranking minority employees for a long time. Like yeah, I get that Willie Harris was done dirty and Getz was a farce. But I really don't understand this. 4 of the past 6 managers were minorities. The top exec for two decades was Black. Darryl Boston is coated in Teflon. Hell, Wilder was replaced by Paddy, so it's not like he was replaced by a white guy. If you're looking to rage against anyone, look north to the Ricketts family and Papa Joe

  9. The Sox (56-90) lost 7-1 and lost the series to the 46-102 Royals, as well as the season series, going 6-7 against the worst team in baseball. The Royals outscored the Sox 73-55 this season.

  11. Massey has 13 homers — more than one vs. our Sox. Must be a thrill for him to play the Sox in GRate Field again. There's something special about 35th and Shields or wherever the park is located now. Probably what, a 20-minute drive from Br. Rice if traffic is light.

  12. While true, there's also one problem - the bullpen is terrible. Joe Kelly was bad and regularly injured. Aaron Bummer was and still is awful. Graveman was acceptable, Santos was acceptable, Middleton might have been tolerable, that's at most a couple tolerable arms. Guys like Lambert, Banks, Shaw - they're borderline big leaguers, the guys who should be called up if someone else gets hurt. Crochet was rushed back so quick from TJS that his body fell apart, and he had a WHIP over 2 while he was here. And they rushed Hendriks back from bloomin' cancer to try to save the pen and his arm gave out because of it. Who is actually supposed to pitch in these games?

  13. First thing they need to do is acquire a young, inexpensive power hitting third baseman with about six years of control.

  14. I hated both La Russa eras, didn't like the Pedro hire. Not necessarily because he is from Kansas City, but because far better experienced options were out there, just like the GM job, that were not pursued. The best candidate the Sox were interested in, Joe Espada, pulled himself out of consideration after seeing firsthand this s%*# show in person the day he interviewed. It was reported they had no interest in Bruce Bochy, who is doing well in Texas. Bottom line, the Sox weren't serious during/after the rebuild, weren't serious with this managerial hire, and weren't serious with the GM hire.

  16. Man I remember when this whole scandal broke. What a disaster that was. I think the comments about how the Sox operate according to Jerry's way are accurate. The rest is garbage from a sociopath.

  17. I hate the Bears as much as I like them, but what were people expecting to happen in one offseason? They were the worst team in football last year.

  18. I honestly don't know what the area around the park is like these days, my experience has always been "It's a giant sheet of parking lots that are practically walled off by the highway on one side". This is very different from places like Cleveland and Pittsburgh, where the ballparks have been integrated into a downtown area that needed the infusion of cash and needed the foot traffic to help grow businesses in a downtown needing revitalization. There might be areas like that in Chicago, but it's certainly not a city in need of bringing new visitors to the downtown area to revitalize foot traffic. Maybe there's some areas in the city this makes sense for?

  20. I've liked that kid since the first time I saw him play . Really wished that he was wearing a Sox uniform, but then if he came up through the White Sox system, he would probably looked lost and confused, like all of our players do.

  21. We need all Sox fans to stop complaining about Sal Perez. The way JR has been acting the last few years he may demand Getz acquire him simply to stick it to us again. We should be demanding the Sox acquire him at ANY cost.

  22. Actually read that Wilder article. I felt bad for KW after that. Wilder may feel less bitter if he ever accepts that he had a job many are pushing themselves and their families to the limit to get and he threw it away to steal.

  25. If the Sox want Sal Perez so bad, acquire him to be player/manager. Give him 250 at bats. If he's so great for winning/chemistry get rid of Pedro and hire Kessinger, I mean player/manager Sal Perez.

  26. Well, tonight wasn’t a bullpen problem. It is pretty cool to give up 8 runs in the first inning and not take the loss.

  28. Don’t worry, I guarantee that we will hear how happy everyone is with the job Getz has done and that we won’t ever see another 1b shoved into the OF again. Like we heard this year.

  29. Salvador Perez looks like he is having a heart attack running with the 3-2 pitch. ”We have to get more athletic. Welcome to the White Sox Sal.” - Chris Getz 11/13/23

  30. Yeah for some reason we're the only team with consistently "baseball stupid" LatAm players. It's a White Sox thing. It's how Chris Getz teaches baseball, apparently.

  32. I haven’t renewed my 10 game plan since the Covid shutdowns, which happens to correspond to when they brought TLR back from the dead to nap in the dugout. I didn’t go to a single game in 2021. I have been to four total games since. I went to the Opening Day debacle this year and that was just about the last straw. I am reluctant to give them any money while JR is still around, and if I do, it will be to watch the road team.

  33. I attend at least two per year. One for my birthday in April, one at another point with either friends or family. This year I went to one against Tampa in April where they gave up 10 runs in the 7th inning and I am thinking of going with my dad and son on Sunday so my dad can experience a Sox game with his grandson and we can get a three generations of Sox fans picture. I know some of you will scoff at the fact I am going to a game when they are this bad but the memory of it will mean the world to me and I might not get that chance next year with another child on the way.

  34. Those are the least surprising comments ever. Anyone with even a slight sliver of interest in the White Sox know that's been the case for decades.

  35. Relative to the traffic here, I've been thinking about that myself. Normally I'm checking countless times a day, even if I post or respond infrequently. I've found myself checking in, seeing the same tired threads on the main page that don't do anything for me, and I check out. A losing team and losing culture definitely have trickle down effects. I know this comment adds nothing to the discourse and I'm doing nothing to make it better, and I'm part of the problem as a result. And that's my observation.
