I hope it's not Epstein. He couldn't draft and develop pitchers for anything.

His one true gift was gaming the draft and international system with huge overpays before the slot systems were introduced.  After that, w/o the ability to throw gobs of money at the wall he couldn’t acquire amateur talent for s%*#.

If it all went down like Bob reported, neither KW or RH had an inkling their job was on the line.

They will be able to tell their grand  kids one day they were so bad, they got fired by Jerry Reinsdorf.

How the f*** do you not suspect just SLIGHTLY that you are in trouble after the last two season

Great fucking information here, fast forward to about 5 min

That was an interesting perspective. still embarrassing they all thought a manager would fix all the problems and only when the manager failed did it sink in. Hell...maybe JR truly didn't even know they had bad minor leagues.

Are minor league rankings in cigar afficianado magazine?

A reporter on 670 last night stated they saw security escort Kenny Williams while he was on the field and into the clubhouse.

Doubt either thought Jerry would pull the trigger while they were at the park yesterday.

I was wondering about the task ahead of our future GM.

Sick of my own pessimism I ask you fellow posters, ones who know way more than me, about a "best case" scenario for our new GM. What can he do in the near future to get the Sox back to being a .500 team.

Please outline for me what your plan would be if you are the next GM. What moves do you make? And please tell me. Is there any scenario in which the Sox could field a good to great team in 2-3 years? Or will it take 5-10? Talk me off the ledge please and instruct our new GM.

Be allowed to speed 100 million on multiple guys.  Trade or get rid of the cancers (Anderson and Moncada)..

That 04 team would've gone to the playoffs had Maggs and frank stayed healthy, and in most years the 06 team would've gone too. The central was actually at its strongest then. That was a good team which peaked in 05, not the fluke a lot of people think.

Its funny because the "fluke" claim was originally started by Cubs fans, and for some reason Sox fans joined right in.  The claim was that the 05 Sox had a huge number of career years.  If you actually look at the numbers, not true at all.

The 05 Sox had one of the most dominant teams in postseason history. The pitchers kept tossing complete games which just 18 years later is extinct.

I don't see ANY scenario where this can happen.

Based on that and the August termination, it makes me think the organization of was so dysfunctional that Jerry felt betrayed.

Right. How miserable do you have to be to pretend that team wasn't the best team in baseball for all but two weeks in August?

So you thought you’d try OURS instead?!?  Embrace the horror, Greg!

Remember, leaking stuff to blame someone else when things have gone wrong or proven unpopular is the exact kind of toxic behavior we’ve seen from these clowns over 11 years. Especially for Hahn, his motivation now is a new job. Could he be lying to make himself look better?

Not to worry there is a new Potbelly at my office and Rick is a finalIst for assistant GM.
