I’m 32 years old and this is easily the worst season of being a Sox fan in my life. With expectations of the season, lack of effort and hustle every day, it’s been miserable.

Yes; 1970 (for those of us who remember) was really bad, but that was the trough of a decline over a few years, after a decade+ of winning. They immediately brought in a new GM and were competitive the next year. This is the most pitiful in my time; and they just rub it in our faces by pushing out the smarmy, condescending, incompetent Hahn to wax excuses.

The HR confirms my thoughts about him pulling the ball more. His swing to LF reminds me of Robin Ventura, it's unnatural and awkward. I believe, like Ventura, maybe he's better off goin LCF to dead pull and give up trying to go the other way.

Popeye gets the Barons on the board by being a menace on the basepaths. Single on a liner to LF, strolls into second for a steal, dodges the tag to steal third on a much closer play, and then scores on a FC grounder up the 1B line by beating out the throw home.

It is pretty nice that virtually everyday Birmingham has a decent prospect pitching. In the DSL, two homers for Mogollon. At 17 years old, is it time to get a little excited? K rate at around 15% and walks about equal Ks. .314/ .414/ .967. Maybe comes to ACL next year?

Aragon is still going strong. Same with the Riv, the Metro, Thalia Hall. All fantastic aged venues. I’d like to thing baseball learned it’s lesson with suburban stadiums. ATL’s nefarious motivations aside. The Bears being entitled brats about the stadium the city and state built for them has no real relevance, and I will celebrate them releasing the stranglehold on public land on the lakefront. We have seen the White Sox draw when they are good. Conceding the city to the north side team is no way to grow the fanbase or increase interest. Talk of a suburban baseball stadium in this day and age is backwards thinking.

2007, 2013, 2017, 2018, 2023 are all my most miserable seasons as a White Sox fan. And Rick was the GM for all but one of them. It's actually quite impressive to be that consistently awful.

If the Chicago Bears built a 120,000 seat stadium in Arlington they would still sell it out every game for the rest of my life.

New ownership, especially the thing that has to happen that I wouldn't wish on anyone directly, can't happen fast enough.

I want Pedro to stay until both he and Hahn go out as a package. Hahn has zero qualifications to hire another manager, and I don't care if Jerry was 100% to blame with La Russa. Under no circumstances should Hahn get another rebuild, or another few years to see if yet another manager "makes things right". A qualified GM needs to hire a qualified Manager for the first time in decades on the South Side.

If the White Sox want to build a new stadium, let them build and pay for it. They don't need a new stadium, they need a new team, a real one. Also, I wouldn't want JR to benefit from another stadium publicly financed.

How in God's name do you sell any season tickets if Pedro Grifol is back? Who would want to watch this same diminishing product three years in a row...with almost no logical/reasonable/realistic hope for improvement?

You would think down by 13 they could indulge the Lambert family and have Jimmy pitch, but that would require some modicum of awareness and class that Pedro does not possess. He’s such a bad manager, man. Just atrocious.

One of the worst losses of the season, maybe the worst. A terrible team annihilates the Sox who muster four hits. What a joke of a team, organization. Remains one of the worst seasons in all our lifetimes because of the lack of effort and lack of having a clue in all regards.

Robert is flirting with a 40/80 season. 40 HRs and 80 RBIs. Would be by far the lowest ever for a 40 HR season ( i believe Bonds had a 40/90). Speaks about the ineptitude surrounding him on this lineup.

I agree. At least they tried to have fun. They went on a small hot streak in the summer. At that time, the Reds were called the Big Red Machine. For a time, the Sox called themselves The Big White Machine. They had some good guys on that team. They just weren't any good.

I'm with South Side Hitmen. Leadership starts at the top. This team didn't just start being bad, it's been bad for the last 15 years. Yet, JR kept the same people in place and the losing just continued. Decisive action needs to be taken, but I don't see it happening. Looks like we're in for another rebuild. Good luck with those season ticket sales.

The whole leadership thing is overblown to me. Robert was honest. He doesn’t hav that type of personality. It’s nice to have a couple of players who have that and can step up, but if you don’t have them, that is what a manager is for. If the guy in that position cannot lead, you have to find someone who can. Pedro obviously isn’t that guy.

The current front office should absolutely not be making that decision.

Just build the Armor Square Field design and name it Wintrust Field at Comiskey Park. It's so fucking baffling that this team was offered one of (if not the) best ballpark designs (Camden) in MLB and the best possible name and passed them up both times. Imagine the Camden Yards design, facing the skyline, but it has the words WIN and TRUST in the name. The White Sox way.

This, and they better be called the fucking Arlington Heights Bears. Better yet, put their asses in London or Berlin and bring back the Cardinals.

Absolutely right ... the renovations done in 2003-2004 really helped make new Sox Park seem less generic. It's now an attractive facility, especially inside -- well-maintained, great sightlines, etc. This is by far the most accessible stadium in the city -- located in a central location in the region, near three (!) public transportation lines and two major expressways (Dan Ryan and LSD). It's got the best tailgating scene in the city. And then there's the fact that it's the same location as the old park -- so in essence the Sox have played at the same location for 113 years. There's a definite appeal to that. There's nowhere else in the city/region that would work as well as their present stadium/location. That said, it's definitely time for another major renovation -- they really need to overhaul the outfield/bleacher section (would love to see them get rid of the Tinkertoy ad space in the outfield). There's also room for development around the stadium. Before he died, Jim Thompson talked about how he wanted to build a hotel on the property, perhaps in the area where the old ballpark was. I feel like states and municipalities are more reluctant to cough up a bunch of cash for professional stadiums now a days, as they should be. I haven't been paying attention to the bears new stadium saga. I hope the state doesn't cough up a dime for that stadium, or for a future Sox stadium.

I don't think the current ownership group wants to deal with all that would go into a new stadium. I think they'd ideally like to make that the next buyer's problem.
