  1. I posted in another thread they can’t possibly make Cairo the manager now. Total surrender. Very unprofessional.

  2. There is such a huge gap of trust between Sox fans and this team now. It would definitely take a house cleaning to bridge this gap. Too inept, dumb, lazy, and arrogant.

  3. Romy is a strikeout machine. The scouting reports caught up to him real quick.

  4. It is pretty clear that the window is CLOSED. Cleveland pitching will always be dominant, we are seeing Cleveland young hitters starting to put together good OPS numbers with the more experience they are getting, one of the best bullpens in baseball. Their farm system is still ranked one of the best with an absurd number of top 100 prospects. Anyone think we will be relevant in 2 years? I am not feeling optimistic at all. Our farm is trash, our roster is old, crippling contracts all over, the FO is clueless and cant evaluate talent, injury prone players and no depth. It just feels like we are going to be .500 at best for the next 2-3 years until Hahn once again rebuilds. Yes it will be Hahn, because Jerry will outlive us all and thats how its going to be.

  6. data:image/svg+xml,%3csvg%20xmlns=%27http://www.w3.org/2000/svg%27%20version=%271.1%27%20width=%2716%27%20height=%2713%27/%3e James Fegan · 5h 36m ago STAFF There’s always a difference between what you’ve heard and what’s firm enough to report. But I consulted with Ken on that piece. We’ve both heard about the hitting coaches not seeing eye to eye with TLR on plate approach. The don’t run hard edict was TLR going out on his own and didn’t sit well with others. The 1-2 intentional walks aren’t agreed with by anyone in the org, especially not the pitching coach who thinks count leverage is about the most important things in baseball. Leury basically disappeared out of the lineup once TLR stepped away. The starting catcher has been grousing about playing time all year

  7. Nothing more to say other than continue to lose to work that draft pick

  8. Only 2 more seasons of Graveman and Leury. Rick blows ass.

  9. The fact that there is even a debate inside the FO says how deeply fucked this org is. Tony La Russia has been a catastrophe, no ifs, ands, or buts. The stars are perfectly aligned to walk away from the colossal mistake and go in a different while allowing everyone to save face. Not that anyone deserves it. But the opportunity is right there in front of them for the taking. And I won’t be shocked one bit if they f*** this up all over again.

  10. If the Sox have any inclination, which they should, is to hire Dayton Moore & Don Mattingly.

  11. Whatever idiot runs NBC Sports White Sox Twitter deserves this smoke.

  12. Can you blame them? A manager they liked got fired and replaced with a 77 year old alcoholic. When they won 93 games despite him, their front office gave their worst player a 3 year deal, traded for an outfielder who can't hit RHP and isn't that good in the outfield, and signed a reliever who was injured. The hitters are being coached by someone who is coaching them counter to their natural talents, and their training staff can't keep them healthy. Why should they give 100% when nobody else in the organization is?

  13. I know several players have chocked and given up! However I'll tell you one player who never quit this season and gave his best effort 100 percent every outing and that is Dylan Cease. Yet another game today, when he didn't have his nasty best stuff and yet went 6 innings with no runs. Sadly another outing this year of many, where he left with the lead and pitched awesome, and yet our shitty inconsistent bullpen failed him. His last 2 outings of 12 innings 1 ER and left both games after 6 innings with the lead. The team quit and chocked on him!

  14. The good news is that they can’t bring LaRussa back, and this homestand probably kills any chance Cairo will get the job. He was probably as close as can be to a lock a week ago, but there is no way now.

  17. Sox are gonna get swept at home by a potential 100 loss team ?

  18. Someone explain why Grandal at DH is any better than Garcia or Harrison today. If LaRussa has no input in lineup any longer Cairo is just as useless.

  19. Well, if I read that correctly, TLR ain't managing again. Hopefully, Cairo losing the team after Tuesday should discourage the FO from even considering him for next year. I don't hate the idea of Bochy, although I doubt he wants to come out of retirement to coach this sorry ass group of players. This job opening isn't what it was just 2 years ago. Bochy is 67, so he's also old. Not TLR old, but still old. I'd rather they go a little younger after seeing what a corpse manager can do to a young team.

  20. This is exactly what this announcement is: face saving. The hire was a disaster from the beginning. The Sox had no intention of bringing LaRussa back this season. The whole thing was a fiasco. And this is why so many have little faith in this FO turning this team around. Meanwhile, the team will still have Hahn, still have Williams, still have a dugout full of coaches who don't know what they're doing. Not looking forward to this off season.

  21. Can we please make this out *forever*?

  22. You can all bet your dicks that if they had swept Cleveland and they were in a position to get into the playoffs, he would have miraculously been cleared by the last series before the playoffs were to start.

  23. I’m not questioning your locker room credentials I’m questioning your blanket biased statement. Perhaps they should bring in a bunch of thugs like the NFL. In between drug suspensions and off the field criminal activities you better have a deep bench of them.

  24. Diekman is flat out brutal same as Kelly. Simply incredible how often player after player after player who comes to the Sox simply goes right down the toilet. It started with Keppinger and basically hasn't stopped.

  25. The idea that a team could spend this much money and disappoint this badly again and the GM could have this terrible of a record and they just say ho-hum everything is going to plan is just baffling.

  26. I won’t watch much today, but this team has earned a gamethread for all 162.

  27. It'll be like a 15 inning gap between he and Verlander. That being said, Cease is about 1 bWAR ahead of Verlander and Cease is about 0.8 fWAR behind Verlander. The difference being the White Sox defense being god awful and the Astros defense being really good. I think Verlander will win over the writers with him coming back from TJS at 39. But in reality, it's really close between them and it really could go either way.

  28. Lopez out here throwing 93-94. Pitching staff seems fatigued all over the place.

  29. Even if the excuse is throwing Tony under the bus, the hitting coach has to go.

  30. Maybe Moncada needs to give up hitting left-handed. His numbers as a righty this year are great.

  31. On vacation by the pool, but seeing if I can help this gamethread get to page 2. Also I see the Sox have no hits into the 4th inning. Note to the Sox players....this is supposed to be entertainment and some people there paid for those seats.....show a little bit of damn fight will ya.

  32. I don't think the current coaching staff is the answer either.

  33. My guess is he will not return, but I will not wait until they announce Cairo as the new Manager in the Spring of 2023. I'm not going to give them any money for season tickets unless we have a new Manager not named TLR or Cairo who has the power to hire his own coaches.

  34. I’m thinking they just keep needing more time to plan the logistics of the parade. Route optimization, ticker tape is probably tough to get with the supply chain issues, etc. These things take time.

  35. This team and franchise is a mess, I don't know how anyone can fix it with too many bad contracts.

  36. Just the first round. First 6 picks, then it goes by record. For example, if Sox were 16th and received the 1st pick via luck, they’d pick 16 in subsequent rounds.

  37. My goodness. The White Sox cannot beat Central Division teams. Embarrassing.

  38. Diekman was trash before the Sox traded for him. And the Sox chose to sign Kelly knowing he was hurt. Both horrendous moves at the time they were made.

  42. It's interesting how 6 months ago you called Sox fans negative and whiners for not being happy with the team direction. And now you are leapfrogging us all and going in to Jack Parkman territory in declaring next year lost as well.

  43. The White Sox can be fixed next year, but they won't be fixed if the same people are doing the fixing.
