Good luck to them then. That rotation is Cole and a bunch of question marks.3 points

I’m surprised @Sports Guyor @Rolle Tide haven’t opined on the BP top 101 list just released Re: Nicky Ortiz. They had a lot to say about him a couple weeks ago and more recently were laughing on their message board at the idea that Ortiz had fallen out of the top 100. ?3 points

Yep. They're all the same. I wonder if each of these guys are saying "Finally the situation I've been looking for. My career is saved!" Or "I'm fucked, the only team that I can play for is the White Sox. I'm going to go teach PE and coach a high school team."3 points

This is your last warning. Stop starting fights about nothing here or you won't have to worry about it.3 points

If the offers for Cease have been as weak as I expected, the risk isn’t that great as a weak return doesnt move the needle that much. ”Oh no Cease got hurt, now we will never get Ortiz” - not exactly a franchise changing miss.2 points

It wasn’t that they “let him walk away.” It was not even tossing out a QO for most.2 points

There’s added pressure to Getz here, being the new guy amongst GM’s. If he relents and accepts less than what he made clear he would be willing to accept, it sets a precedent/reputation - fair or not - that he can be waited out in negotiations.2 points

So many of the Orioles prospects “in play” are 24-25 years old. I’d much rather the Sox go for high ceiling guys like Arias (NYY) than these older prospects. I understand the injuries and COVID year restrictions as well (since I’m sure the hangout will argue that).2 points

I’m not sure Westburg, Beavers and McDermott would even be on the table at the deadline. Westburg could have a big first half and I expect Beavers and McDermott on midseason top 1002 points

How is Rodon a question mark? Sox nation was calling for the end of days when Jerry allowed him to walk away.2 points

Well then I wouldn’t expect a deal to get done anywhere if those are your expectations2 points

Nightengale made it seem like Sox wanted one of Jones or Hampton and Yanks wouldn’t include either2 points

Baltimore when they face five Dylan Ceases in the playoffs, with five Colson Montgomerys batting in the order:2 points

They were always "weirdly careful" with Graveman, they never seemed to want him to pitch back to back games even when they desperately needed him to for example down the stretch in '22. I wonder if this is something they've been managing for a long time.2 points

We trade Cease to ourselves for Montgomery and Schultz. It's like the Mewtwo cloning glitch in Pokemon Blue.2 points

Why have the DBacks stopped coming up this offseason? They could still use Cease. Coming a WS appearance. Was talk about them being wiling to include Lawler last deadline. They have other interesting prospects.2 points

In a perfect world, they draft the right QB at 1, secure their LT at No. 9, and use the hopeful 2nd they get back from Fields to get a WR to complement DJ. You try and sign someone like Andre James at C in free agency, and fill in the rest of your holes in the draft. But they'd have a well rounded team with those moves, all of which seem pretty realistic. The only thing still missing is another edge rusher, which again could be done in FA.2 points

I still think he was hurt last year. If you put him on a team with a solid clubhouse where he can just focus on baseball, I'd expect him to rebound.2 points
-
yeah I never got the impression that he's a bad teammate or anything, actually the opposite, he simply sucked at baseball last year. and he behaves in a way that rubs some fans the wrong way. the only "clubhouse issue" I can recall is that rumor about a conflict with Groundball where Tim seemed to be in the right.2 points
-
His "cancer" was turning from a 4-5 WAR player into a .5-1.5 WAR player. Is he a "good" club house guy? Probably not, but in a winning team, he's just another cog.2 points

Coming around to roll the dice with the new defense and get a 25-30% better return at the deadline. It’s like trading Dak Prescott, Tua, Trevor Lawrence or even Justin Fields (as of this week) when we believe Dylan’s truly an elite guy in the right situation and should be properly valued as one of the top ten out of 150 instead of merely top 25-30% or whatever. Orioles fans are acting like he is Kirk Cousins.1 point

That's fine, I'm just not a big fan of his game and think his positive (Highish floor) shouldn't be what the Sox are targeting.1 point

I'd bring him back unless there was some Chris Sale like issue we don't know about where he revolted against the team and management. You can't form opinions about players based on things you just assume about them. Many of these players , even the best ones like Robert Jr., might not be people you might consider as friendly, etc. As I recall,TA spent time mentoring kids in the ACE program and appeared to like Chicago and all Sox fans. Obviously he had some personal issues and injury issues but he's a human being for C Sakes.1 point

I wouldn’t if your posters knew the rules and didn’t try to question it. It’s not my fault you guys don’t know basic rules.1 point

Second level of suites plus the Club level seats is why the upper deck is so high and steep and so far from the playing field, that’s what we got from JRs greed. I’ll never forget attending a game in late 1989 at old Comiskey and while waiting for the gates to open, I got my first view of the new park under construction and couldn’t believe how high the upper deck was. I don’t wish death on anyone except evil people like Hitler and Stalin but I’m hoping JR would sell as that would be one of the happiest days of my life, I detest the man. PS: I know he won’t sell because of inheritance taxes or whatever but I can always hope.1 point

I appreciate the thought and frankly I could do the job. But I'm 68 and my wife and I just paid off our house. I'm actually going to be inducted into the Idaho State Sports Hall of Fame this February. I have established roots here in Southeast Idaho but it simply is a non-starter right now. Maybe 20 years ago I'd certainly think about applying but not now.1 point

I’m still waiting on the Angels to sign Tim Anderson. I think Ron Washington would be a big help getting him back on track.1 point

Really good for him. And good for the Sox too, when was the last time a Sox assistant was poached by another team? Especially a forward thinking team like the Mariners.1 point

Ha ha I still don't love Joe Kelly and I'm happy he's elsewhere. If anything it makes me love Shohei even more.1 point
