  1. Lift the entire stadium up and rotate it so there's a view of downtown from behind home plate.

  2. Sure but likewise if you take the people in KC that haven't been murdered out of the equation, then the murder rate there is 100%. Pretty scary.

  4. Kansas City has a higher per capita murder rate than Chicago.

  5. To expand on this, add a Hawk Harrelson soundboard to the goose. Home run call? The goose is belching fire and yelling "PUT IT ON THE BOARD!" "YOU'VE GOTTA BE BLEEPING ME" after a bad review. "A Kansas City special" whenever Pedro Grifol appears on the field, the Royals do anything, or a ball sneaks through, even if it they're not facing the Royals. Another feature: The Kaskade Hotbox A room filled with edibles and joints. Playing non-stop Kaskade to remind us of the brief shining moment in White Sox history. Leury Garcia is found here.

  7. Clearly not enough people have been subjected to Royals broadcasts to truly appreciate Jason and Steve

  8. Since they had the LaRussa Lounge after the DUI, I fully expect the Clevinger Day Care Center to be next

  10. I'm so extremely bummed. I'm out on AKME. I hate not having good basketball in chicago. And what's worse, I was apathetic when we had good albeit not championship level ball. I don't even really understand how to build a good team in the nba without extreme luck. I don't get why the raptors are so bad. I don't get even why the bulls are. We celebrated when bulls knicks tried and now want them to tear it down. The bulls/magic went into rebuilds, got zero lottery luck, entered decade of hell. The Grizzlies went into a rebuild, got incredible lottery luck, are entering a decade of dominance. The Suns went into a rebuild, were largely idiots, had incredible lottery luck, tried and became dominant, it lasted for like 2 years and is facing hell. It's really kinda hard for me to get into basketball as much. It seems way too random to build a team. It sucks.

  11. I really don’t care about the White Sox losing money through this stupidity on their part, I already laughed at the fact that Hahn guaranteed him $4 million against suspension with his stupid buyout and option. I would care more about taking the money from the suspension out of Clevinger’s accounts. He got that contract by keeping an abuse case quiet, a penalty would be nice.

  13. I would set all of my Sox merch ablaze outside Gate 5 then defecate on the smoldering ashes if that happened.

  15. How about we go all in with a 6 man rotation including Clevinger and Bauer.

  16. There was never a doubt. Glad to see this done. tho. Has Jason really been doing this 8 years? No way that's right. edit: started in 2016. Man, time flies.

  20. It isn't his job per se, but in his position, you ARE responsible for what happens underneath you. That's why Hahn gets generic blame here from people. Yes people understand that it isn't Hahn himself out sleuthing each player, but someone under his should be doing it and reporting back to him. If it isn't happening, that means Hahn isn't doing his job by making sure he has all of the information he needs to make good decisions.

  21. It's obvious that the Sox looked at his pitching history and convinced themselves they were getting a bargain, instead of looking at everything else and realizing there was a reason everyone else was looking past his pitching ceiling.

  22. This stuff has been out there about Clevenger for a while but Hahn chose to ignore it because he got a player he's always wanted at a price they could afford. I really hope they can't get out of paying him because they need to be punished for being so F'ing stupid.

  26. Everyone wants Montgomery and the top guys. Sox aren’t going to do that for marginal upgrades. They needed to keep spending but Jerry lives to draw arbitrary lines in the sand

  27. Rick Hahn should be fired tomorrow morning. They had to have know about this and it’s inexcusable if they didn’t. A press release should be ready tomorrow morning announcing his firing but it’s not because this is a fucking disaster of an organization with a fucking terrible owner.

  28. Only way this could have turned out worse for the Sox was a lot of suggestions out there trading Giolito right around the time he was signed. This organization is trash from ownership down.

  29. Good god is this a disaster. So to summarize, this off-season we have lost the following: 3.9 fWAR 1B 2.4 fWAR SP 1.6 fWAR CL 1.4 fWAR UT And assuming Clevinger is ultimately released, the only external addition of any significance is a non-power hitting LF. I won’t blame Hahn for the Hendriks situation or this latest nightmare, but it does highlight how much Hahn sucks at being a major league GM. Literally if anything else goes wrong from this point forward we are completely fucked because there isn’t a semblance of depth anywear except 1B/DH. When you stop augmenting the roster and instead bank on 100% health & luck you reap what you fucking sow. Can’t wait for the day this organization is finally free of the incompetence that is Rick Hahn.

  30. Maybe I’m crazy, but it seems to me if MLB and/or the Padres were aware of a situation like this, they have an obligation to share the information with teams interested in signing or trading for the player in question. MLB teams are “partners.” Allowing one team to hurt the reputation of another by hiding information is pretty bad and damaging.

  31. If you were being hired for an upper management position at a large company or firm you can bet you're ass their doing a background check on you, and something like this may or may not be relevant to them. It's called character and a large firm wouldn't take a chance on getting their name tarnish by a suspected abuser and skirt chaser. We know it's not relevant with the Chicago White Sox, that's why we're in this situation. A better signing would have been Jameson Taillon if the Sox were serious about winning.

  32. Boston released Wil Cordero as fast as they could in 1997 after he pleaded guilty to domestic violence. The White Sox signed him the next spring. What a great move.

  33. Daryl Boston can share a few stories no doubt, speaking of, as long as the Sox continue to employ him, maybe it's JR's character that should be questioned. After all he employed a two time DUI offender and a coach suspected of participating in rape with a group of players.

  34. He's not married, but has dated the mother of 2 of his children born in 2016, 2017 since 2014, and had a third child in 2020 with the woman he's now being accused of abusing. So he's in a relationship with a woman who he had 2 children with a long time, in the meantime he's messing around with Bauer's friend, this woman he is suspected of abusing today and who knows how many more. I guess the kid's are proud their Dad likes to f***.

  35. Karma is a b****, baseball gods are saying "it's time" (remember that slogan?) for new ownership. Just heard from a member of the mainstream Chicago media to get their thoughts, this was the reply: "The best sports organizations do their own background checks and don’t need to rely on the commissioner’s office. I knew about the baggage when they signed Clevinger, but I thought it was related to something else indirectly tied to his former Cleveland teammate. Rick Hahn should be called on the carpet for this. Who does background checks for this organization, Barney Fife?"

  36. I think Soxfest was usually held the last weekend in January. At least they knew what they were doing not holding it this year.

  37. Another example of how this organization is inept, dysfunctional and incompetent. And until the owner is no longer around the baseball gods are going to keep dumping on it.

  38. The good news is the Sox probably have to do something to try to take this off the front burner. The bad news is the guys that always create messes like this will be doing the something.

  39. See track record of spotty character issues above. Will take side of Terry Francona over Bauer and Clevinger on every occasion. Integrity matters. This isn't about youthful libido. He's a borderline psychopath if you can believe even half of what's out there.

  42. Damn. MLB players have one hell of a collective bargaining agreement. Would be awesome if most of the hard working Americans out there had union contracts even half as strong.

  43. Jerry owns 20%. His influence isn't as much as one of the owners, it's as the Chairman. He doesn't have to sell, he could retire and allow a successor to take over.
