Venable not coaching these guys on how to avoid wasting challenges is also very infuriating.

McKinven, partly speaking on behalf of the front office which controls the strategy on things like that, says their basic philosophy is "bombs away" and as of about a month ago they were very happy with how things were going

Schultz going to shove tonight. I got a feeling!

I never make game threads or grade trades, just so I can say I told you so later. It’s a sound strategy and something only a supervillain like me could think of.

Me and @WhiteSox2023 have a special relationship that allows us to joke with with each other. We are online buds. I would never besmirch his character unless he really needed to hear it

Especially after a night when the bullpen was depleted. There couldn't be any worse result than this.

And after using Castillo for only 4 innings despite claiming he was added to provide bulk innings!

If he added a second starter instead of Doyle and kept Hays/Pereira, it would have been a nice trade deadline.

Nah, Castillo was a bad trade target. Couldn’t even pitch him against your main divisional pennant contender.

Vargas and mune are a joke right now

No doubt they’re struggling, Mune like Colson has to cut down on the Ks.

Did they really give Kwan a hit on that error by acuna?

As well as why did you make moves knowing Romo would still get at least 10 at bats a game for the next month? Also, what part of a 5 ERA in Seattle did you think would translate well to Rate Field?

These are good questions.

Getz made the team worse with his deadline decisions, it sure seems

He got too cute. Feels like he focused on guys who were underperforming that they think they can "fix".

The decision to put Fedde in the bullpen and keep Schultz in was a mistake. Should have kept it like it was but swap out Castillo for Schultz

That made no sense last night

Veneble overmanaged last night

Make it 3 of his last 4 starts he went 5 or less innings.

Which is great if you’re not contending and focused on next year

Well lucky for you it could be changed back tomorrow if they feel like it.

I fully understand the “use it or lose it” principle of challenges, but we are wasting way too many early in games and on non competitive pitches.

I have a feeling we’ve seen the last of Schultz starting a game this year

I have been wondering how much more we would have had to include to get Hancock or Miller. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if Getz preferred Castillo because of his “experience” like a dunce.

Yup, had to get more innings out of him last night, especially with a critical series against the Guardians kicking off the next day.

Yeah, I think you need to save the early challenges on no brainers or really game changing plays. Seeing them wasted so early is frustrating.

Way, way more

Doyle with extremely soft contact

Luckily Cleveland hasn't been able to do a think to Sandlin yet.

My thoughts exactly. What happened there?

Hopefully Sandlin goes 6 innings, we win the game, and Will is secretly a genius.

no chance.

I wish I had you guys there behind me to 4D think my way out of the dumb decisions I make.

Hope you’re right. Kid just wasn’t ready and needs to work on more things in AAA.

Anybody else tired of seeing Braden meditate in the box?

Is that showing enough power for you guys?
